How can I fight SPAM?
Webformix uses anti-SPAM software on their mail server called SpamAssassin. It can be utilized on a per-email-address basis, and is turned on by default. You may customize it's spam threshold for each email address you'd like SPAM filtered from.
To utilize our anti-SPAM features, you must follow these steps:
Note: SPAM filtering is not perfect. It is possible that, after following these steps, legitimate email that is sent to you may be mistakenly identified as SPAM and you may not receive it. Webformix accepts no responsibility for mail being lost or overlooked as a result of using our anti-SPAM features.
- Log into webmail with the email address for which you'd like SPAM filtered from.
- Click the 'Options' link up at the top
- Click 'Spam Filter Options'
- Change the Spam Filter setting to 'Enabled'
-
Type in a 'Threshold' value* (5 is set by default)*The software we use analyzes each message that is sent to our users and assigns it a 'Spam Rating'. The higher the rating a message receives, the more likely its Spam. For example: a message receiving a score of 1 is not very likely to be SPAM. A message receiving a score of 30 is very likely SPAM. In our experience, very little legitimate mail receives a SPAM score above 8, with most of it receiving a score of 3 or 4. When you set the threshold value at a particular number, you'll pretty much be telling the server that, as far as you're concerned, any message with a SPAM score above the value you set should be designated as SPAM. Setting the threshold to 8, 9, or 10 is recommended.
- Click the 'Update Settings' button and close out of Webmail
Next, you must configure your mail client
(e.g., Outlook Express, Outlook2000, OutlookXP, etc.)
to filter out messages that our server identifies as
SPAM.

- Click here for instructions on configuring Outlook 2000 to check your email
- Click here for instructions on configuring Outlook XP to check your email
Another option is to select the feature "Trash the spam message". This will move all email marked as spam silently into your IMAP "Trash" folder. This can be checked with Webmail, or with a mail client set to use IMAP instead of POP. All items in your trash folder more than 30 days old get automagically deleted.
