I have an outdoor antenna kit installed on my house, is this at risk of being hit by lightning?
The likelihood of the outdoor antenna being hit by lightning is very slim indeed. The majority of the housing is plastic, and there are safety components installed that will burn out like fuses in the off-chance that lightning should hit the unit. The unit may be damaged and need to be replaced, but it will prevent the lightning from harming your computer. If you're concerned about this issue, we suggest that you install an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), and run all equipment through it. Contact a Webformix sales representative for more information or if you'd like for us to install a recommended UPS. It is also good advise to make certain our equipment remains properly grounded at all times. As of third quarter 2006, our installers have adopted a new protocol for grounding equipment at installation that will further reduce the danger of lightning damage.
