What is WiMAX?
WiMAX is a wireless digital communications system, also known as IEEE 802.16, that is intended for wireless "metropolitan area networks". WiMAX can provide broadband wireless internet access up to 30 miles if line of sight exists.
Webformix utilizes carrier grade WiMAX equipment from Airspan to provide the best data rates, quality of service (QoS), and reliability when compared to other wireless technologies employed in the Central Oregon area. We are also exploring options to offer mobile and self-install services in the near future — great for clients on the go.
Our WiMax equipment operates in an FCC licensed band which has no interference, in contrast to the 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz unlicensed WiFi bands. This helps to ensure a quality of service unheard of in the crowded Value spectrum.
